Frankenstein
Wow. I am so genuinely moved.
This is an epic. An epic I’ve been waiting for. To the scale of the early 2000s blockbusters of pirates and LOTR, but to the heart of some of the greatest stories ever made.
We talk a lot about film as a medium of art. It can be debated, but this makes me believe.
I am just speechless.
Jacob Elordi and Oscar Issac career bests.
The second half of the film is the better half, but the first half set up is needed. When the second half gets going though… The empath in me nearly couldn’t handle it. Beautiful writing and directing by Del toro. Every frame is a million bucks. Every emotion hit me like a ton of bricks.
Really hoping Netflix eases up and gives this a proper physical release. I really think it could end up being a film looked back upon for generations.
To take a story that has been done over and over, and to make it feel new, to make it breathe “life” will be something I always remember.
“I am a monster”
“You are a good man, and my friend”
