Eraserhead
My favorite David Lynch movie, and my introduction to both David Lynch and artistically inclined cinema back in the year of 2017. I kinda forget this movie holds a big spot in my heart.
This is a sheer anxiety attack on screen and even in his earliest film Lynch’s attention to sound design and core human emotions is at its height here. It’s nice coming back to a Eraserhead after seeing all of Lynch’s films and Twin Peaks for the first time. It’s like coming back to an old friend. Maybe not the best analogy for a film that I related to being an anxiety attack on screen, but oh well.
If you’ve never watched Eraserhead watch it now. It’s streaming almost everywhere. It’s my favorite Lynch film, and it’s his first. And if you’ve seen it already I hope you love this crazy nightmare as much as I do.
I hope to understand it all one day.
