GoodFellas
In a sense, watching The Wolf of Wall Street almost spoils Goodfellas in a way. I have a lot of jumbled thoughts in my head about Goodfellas but, in short, this movie rocks. I’m glad I finally got around to watching it. There’s just a certain magic to Scorsese’s style of storytelling that is unparalleled. This thing could be dissected down scene by scene, but most importantly it’s an engaging movie. I think a lot of filmmakers get so wrapped up in creating a dynamic piece of art that creating something that is engagement is often overlooked. Scorsese is a master at combining the two and it’s magical to see it happen on screen.
I want Martin Scorsese to be my Italian granddad who cooks for me always. Food looks incredible in this film.
