Saw the mother fucking restoration with Gregg Araki, James Duvall, and Jason Rail in the flesh for a Q&A. I was not expecting Gregg and James to be standing in front of the merch stand. I haven’t been that star struck in a long as time. I got a super cool shirt and pin!!!! I’ve been wanting an official Gregg Araki shirt of years now. Watching the restoration felt like watching a whole new film. You thought the colors popped when you first watched this film. You haven’t seen shit yet. Every single shot is dripping with color. The sound mix in this new version is exceptional!!! The music in Araki’s films is always super standout and the updated mix really fucking rocked! Like Gregg Araki said, you can finally hear all the music!! Seeing this in fancy totally sold out San  theater was fucking incredible! One of my favorite movie going experiences I’ve had in a very long time. Gregg Araki is the master of punk rock queer cinema. Nobody ever did it like him. I pray to the queer movie gods that we get a proper home release of this updated version. I need this to be playing on a loop in my room!!! Gregg Araki I fucking love you!!!
