Safe
I was SEATED as soon as the Mulholland-esque synth began playing over Los Angeles County suburbia.
The top review here describes this as viscerally queer; to me, being queer is so much more than sexuality and gender. I’ve always felt like there’s something “wrong” with me that I can’t put into words. I think everyone – including those who appear to conform – can understand the feeling of being queer to a degree as seen in Carol, an upper-middle class white suburban housewife. I love films that make me feel uneasy AND seen.
