I loved this movie one million billion times more this watch. Was kinda giving Star Wars why is Wolverines dad William Stryker literally Darth Vader/Donald Trump… William Stryker literally had an armada of masked soldiers coming to shoot people and kidnap children, putting them in essentially internment camps and people still say the X-Men aren’t political??? Bs. Magneto was right 🗣️🗣️🗣️
Tbh I haven’t seen anyone say this about the movie, but Jason Stryker is misunderstood and I don’t think they did anything wrong. I feel like through the subtext of the film you can tell they were never allowed to be who they were (yeah I’m using they/them pronouns for Jason Stryker what abt it??), and their dad turned them into a zombie and they died like terribly unhappy and sick. In the visions Jason presents to Xavier, they’re a girl who presumably attends Xavier’s school, like Jason did before their dad took them out of school and turned them into a vegetable. In the vision everything is seemingly Jason’s idea of what life should be. Jason projects a vision where Charles can walk again and it makes him momentarily cry tears of joy, and in the vision Jason is a girl, everything is colorful and happy, it’s a vision that never had the chance to be real because his parents withdrew him from Xavier’s school. It only gets bad whenever their dad uses that evil ass mind control bullshit on them and that wasn’t even their fault. Jason kind of reminded me of Owen at the end of I Saw The TV Glow, like their soul was buried, except Jason couldn’t even scream like Owen could, they were paralyzed by their father, unable to move or speak, only exchanging glances that share nothing but pain behind the eyes, and projecting visions of a life that passed them by, they weren’t granted the luxury of screaming anywhere other than internally. Each member of the X-Men have essentially deadnames, I wonder what Jason’s real name could’ve been if the circumstances were different. And don’t get me wrong Jason projecting visions into their parents brains when they were a kid was a lil fucked up, but also girl bye because they were literally experimenting on your brain and your body like get their ass wtf. Deserved 🤷♀️. I was pretty sad to see that Nightcrawler teleports everyone to safety from the flood except for them. I love Nightcrawler he’s still my goat but cmon… Like they didn’t ask for their dad to be Donald Trump or to be mind controlled, why was Jason left behind?? They literally died for all of their sins. They were left to drown in their sorrow like they had been pretty much their entire life and that’s how they died. That hurt my feelings. Fuck William Stryker all my homies hate William Stryker. 🗣️🗣️
I feel like the first two X-Men movies and then Logan are a perfect trilogy, probably the greatest trilogy on earth, I wanna try watching them all as a trilogy but I gotta watch X-Men First Class too because of Cherik ofc (slang for Charles X Erik) 🏳️🌈👨❤️💋👨 okay so it’s 3 am now, goodnight X-Men I love you and you are my favorite 🫶🫶
