i hate how everyone takes his drug problem as a joke. his friend makes jokes about it and the interviewer laughs at him like he’s kidding. it makes me think about when i was on this call and i’d had a terrible day. so when i got a call i was happy about it. but they just spoke about how they wanted this guy who killed them in the game to kill himself. but that wasn’t enough so they went into so much detail about it. about how he would do it, when he would do it and who (or who wouldn’t) care. a part of me wanted to prove it right to them and die the next day. instead i stayed silent until they called me out by name in the call. maybe i should’ve said something. it wasn’t the first time.
the film itself is remarkable. it’s says so much with so little. i love the narrated parts. the opening is up there with Magnolia and Melancholia. it’s simple at its core. it never over does it and it works so well. some of the music choices were off, but somehow still worked at the same time. overall, it’s potent. it will stay with me forever. but i can’t recommend it because it’s just so devastating
