Hard Boiled

This moves higher up my list of favorites each time I see it. With every new watch I notice at least one thing in each scene that I didn’t during my previous watch and that’s what makes a movie great to me. I think this is a masterpiece on all fronts. In starting with the opening scene that Woo did, he grabs your attention because no matter who you are or what you’re into, there’s something for you; an almost choreographed shootout scene, action stunts, music, cinematography, sound design, storytelling, and the list could be hours long.  From the screenplay to the enchanting visuals of Hong Kong to the masterful camera work that tells a story all its own, this film should be studied.
