Nightshift
This film feels like you’re there but you’re in a haze. Like you won’t remember any of it when you leave. The high “out of the way” angles with the long takes create this “fly on the wall CCTV footage” atmosphere and the diegetic sound definitely helped create that vibe. It felt like falling asleep on a roadtrip when you were a kid but then you wake up and for some reason you’re on an adult ghost tour.
The receptionist has these moments where she looks like the Mona Lisa (perhaps because of the face paint?) and it’s a haunting performance. Her movements are graceful yet ghostly.
I watched this twice back to back and I’d do it again!
