james cameron’s only great movie fight me this thing is so good man - it’s not perfect and the romance can be cheesy as hell but every single time i watch it, i cross my fingers and toes that those crazy kids actually make it. the transition to 90s disaster film is so smooth and every scene devoted to the sinking is harrowing. the slow build just makes you care so deeply about the tragedy that ensues, achingly earnest melodrama and all. excellent stuff, truly one of the greatest blockbusters of all time
