Sicario

Such a masterfully crafted script that throws the audience off. This story is not about Emily Blunt's character but is about Benicio Del Toro's character, Alejandro. A revenge film where his wife and daughter were brutally killed by the Mexican cartel, a former lawyer turned Sicario who seeks vengeance but ultimately becomes the very thing that killed his family. Emily's character represents us the audience, what she knows, we know and what she does not know, we find out later and everything is slowly revealed to us as the film drops clues. Two of my favorite scenes ever in a film are in this film, the border scene and the iconic dinner scene, I can't get enough of the dinner scene especially with how brutal and yet terribly bad I felt for the kids who did nothing and had to pay with their lives for the sins of their father.
