Hamnet
“to die, to sleep, perchance to dream.”
i’ve been thinking about this film for months and how badly i wanted to watch it, but it wasn't showing in any movie theaters here, unfortunately. however, i am so glad that i finally watched it after waiting for so long. this film really struck me, what a tragic story. i felt so many emotions while watching this film and most of them came from how painful it is to lose someone.

hamnet* is probably one of the best representations of dealing with grief and death in film. the performances were so powerful that i felt attached to the characters in many ways. from the storytelling, cinematography and performances, it stayed with me even after the credits started to roll.
death and grief are incredibly painful to experience, yet so meaningful. this film acknowledged that the pain of grief digs down from the love and connection that once existed. grieving is inevitable. even in the absence of the person, the love continues to exist and be felt. i love this film so so much and i am so happy that it's getting the recognition it deserves. jessie buckley, that talented woman that you are.
