Oppenheimer
every time i rewatch this i wish that i could see it again for the first time in imax. just such a well constructed movie that no other biopic can even compete with. i'm kinda surprised this didn't win best screenplay since it won so many awards and this imo is easily nolan's best. that said, i haven't seen American Fiction, so maybe that did deserve it. multiple actors gave career best performances, and there are very few characters like cillian murphy as oppenheimer that i've been able to feel, to understand, and to empathize with on the same level. so many moments in this movie are just so well done in all aspects and so memorable, the best may be oppenheimer's speech after hiroshima, but my personal favorite might be at the beginning when Branagh as Niels Bohr says Can you hear the music, Robert? and we hear Ludwig Göransson's amazing score, which is easily one of the best in recent memory, and we also get some amazing visuals, allowing us to seemingly step into oppenheimer's mind. i just love this movie so much.
