Superman
What I’ve always loved most about Superman is that he just wants to do good. That’s it. He’s not in it for fame or glory — he just genuinely wants to help people. And this film really gets that.
I walked out of the cinema feeling inspired. Like, I actually wanted to go out and do something kind for someone. That’s how a Superman movie should make you feel. If a superhero film doesn’t make you want to be that hero, it’s missed the point. But this one nailed it.
David Corenswet was amazing. He brought this really genuine, hopeful energy to Superman that I haven’t felt in a long time. He reminded me so much of Christopher Reeve — and while Reeve will always be the best Superman in my eyes, David’s not far behind at all.
To be honest, I never really connected with Henry Cavill’s Superman. He just felt kind of distant and emotionless. This new Superman actually feels — he smiles, he cares, he connects with people. You can see the heart behind everything he does.
And I have to say, I loved Lois and Clark’s relationship in this film. In past versions, especially with reeves Superman, I always felt like Lois didn’t really like Clark — just Superman. But here, you can actually feel the love between them. Their connection felt real and grounded, and it made me root for them as a couple in a way I haven’t before.
Also, I’m so glad they didn’t waste time with another boring origin story. Man of Steel spent nearly 20 minutes on that, and it didn’t really add anything. This film skips all that and just gets right into the story, and it works so much better.
And I loved that they finally brought Krypto in. He was adorable, and honestly stole every scene he was in. Such a fun addition without it feeling cheesy.
All in all, this is one of the best Superman films we’ve had in years. It actually feels like Superman again — full of hope, kindness, and heart. I’m really excited to see what David does next with the role, and I’ve got high hopes for what James Gunn is building with DC. For the first time in a while, it feels like they’re getting it right.
Edit: I just rewatched it and it somehow got even better
