it was layered with social commentary and knew how to be funny without ruining the message. i think people don’t ask enough why machine service providers are always shaped around women, whether its voiced by a woman (alexa, apple maps, etc) or trying to look exactly like a woman (the hyper realistic robots being made currently). and the answer is bc the patriarchy we live in believe women are only here to serve them & you can only be free if you kill the part of you that complies. movie did great with the timing— esp as of late women have been trying so hard to voice that they want to be free to make choices for themselves.
