Frankenstein
“How often a man believes he’s met an angel or a devil, only to find it is all an illusion. The game of chess we play... we play only against ourselves.”
Wow, I’m simply blown away. Guillermo Del Toro, you’ve done it once again. This movie just hooks you from beginning to end and doesn’t let go. A tragic tale that is just super captivating. Everything about this was perfect. The acting absolutely shined, whether it was from Oscar Isaac, Jacob Elordi, Mia Goth, Christoph Waltz and many others. They all knocked it out of the park. OH AND THE CINEMATOGRAPHY. Dan Laustsen, we need to get you the Oscar for best Cinematography. The costume design was also absolutely stunning. I loved seeing all the 19th century clothing. Oh and the makeup was amazing too. The makeup for The Creature was spectacular. I also adored the set design too. I’m so happy they mostly relied on practical effects. I love when filmmakers do that. All in all, this was an amazing movie. I highly, highly recommend it. I wish I could have seen it in theaters, but Netflix didn’t want to make this film a wide theatrical release.
“I will make you bleed, I will make you humble. You may be my creator, but from this day forward, I will be your master.”
“My place was never in this world. I sought and longed for something I could not quite name. But in you, I found it. To be lost and to be found, that is the lifespan of love. And in its brevity, its tragedy... this has been made eternal. Better this way... to fade... with your eyes gazing upon me.”
