The way of Reynolds and Alma’s love consumes them both with such intensity is absolutely staggering. Every single person around them becomes just another piece in their game, and even the audience gets swept along by the film’s rhythm. I found myself wondering whether Alma was actually just a cunning bitch. But then it hit me, it’s never really anyone else’s place to interfere in someone else’s relationship unless they’ve asked for help. And even then, you might still end up becoming the clown. What I took from it was the importance of “separation of issues”, knowing what’s yours to carry and what isn’t.
