Pulp Fiction
“Aw man, I shot Marvin in the face”
Pulp Fiction is a landmark for cinema, and certainly Tarantino’s magnum opus.
I don’t think the cinematography is looked at enough. Anyone would be quick to point out the unique color grading, but this film lays the groundwork for the more abrasive Tarantino projects, and that deserves recognition.
Plot is definitely the main draw of this film, and why wouldn’t it be. The 3 intertwined stories worked surprisingly well. Despite the complexity, the plot was easy to understand on the initial viewing.
The pacing was certainly not an issue despite the runtime. I genuinely enjoyed the slower-paced scenes, I felt immersed in the visually loud world.
This Movie has style.
