my favorite conjuring movie!!! the warrens are at their best here. ed and lorraine actually feel like a married couple who genuinely love each other while casually spending their free time entering houses where demons are trying to kill them. the ENFIELD HOUSE??? perfect horror setting. creepy british house, terrified children, things moving around by themselves, possession, an old man speaking through a little girl. exactly the bullshit i came here for!! valak?? A NUN DEMON?? whoever came up with that deserves their check because why is a nun standing silently at the end of a hallway inherently fucking terrifying and funny because that happened to you and not me the scene with the painting where lorraine is sitting in the room and valak’s shadow moves across the wall before lining up with the painting??? NO. absolutely fucking not. one of my favorite scenes. and the crooked man!!! this movie really said one demon wasn’t enough, here’s a horrifying tall skinny motherfucker too. patrick wilson once again except unlike josh lambert, ed warren is actually useful. imagine that!!! ed singing “can’t help falling in love” to the family and then going back to his demon job 😭😭 lorraine figuring out valak’s name and realizing she had literally been given what she needed to defeat it??? QUEEN BEHAVIOR. that ending with ed hanging out of the fucking window while lorraine is trying to save him. she loves that man down BADDD if i’m going to watch a family get terrorized by a demonic entity for two hours, THIS is how i want it done also kinda a christmas movie if you think about and it’s comforting i love ittttt
