Almost forgot how wonderful this film was, this should be revered alongside chazelles other works (La la land and whiplash) and I notice new things every time I watch this movie like the parallels between Nellie and Jim at the start and the end with the line “you either are a star or you ain’t one” showcasing the dark and light sides of a corrupt industry like Hollywood in the 1920’s and 30’s
