Interstellar
Are there problems with it? Sure. But I don't really give a shit about them. This is amazing, I don't think it's his best but perhaps it's his most emotional film. Matthew genuinely gives it his all, Anne is really quite good, Jessica is actually phenomenal especially since she's only in the later half and Mackenzie put in one hell of a performance "just for a child". I wish that Cooper's son Tom was given a bit more to deal with (although the scene with his recording being played back to Copper since he missed all of that part of his own son's life).
I liked that this film was understandable to the average person, something that Nolan didn't do well at all with Tenet. It's certainly not a explainable movie but I don't think it's hard to understand it's basic concepts, I also loved the accuracy of it all, or the supposed accuracy based on knowledge that we've already got, and most definitely the truly incredible feat of predicting what a black hole truly looks like. Something that I noticed with this film is that the (stunning) theme is used just a bit too much for my liking. Apart from that, Hans kills it, although I prefer his score for Inception and The Dark Knight (with James Newton Howard) since I felt they were a bit more unique to their films. The sound design (and especially on Miller's planet) was stunning.
Very good, space time thingy go boom. (But that cyclical ending was perfect, like genuinely perfect).
