WALL·E
oh my god this movie is actually like… so soft. like it’s adorable but also completely terrifying?? it’s this cute lil robot just vibing in a trash-covered earth doing his job and collecting lil trinkets like a hoarder raccoon and then boom—existential crisis and commentary on the downfall of humanity.
wall-e doesn’t even speak but somehow has more personality than half the men on dating apps. he’s literally just out here crushing on eve (a literal ipad with attitude) and risking his life for her the second he meets her. and she’s all sleek and deadly and shoots first, asks questions never. power couple.
but lowkey the part that hit the hardest was how earth was so destroyed that humans just dipped… like fully gave up. and the people on the ship?? they don’t even walk anymore. they’re just floating in chairs sipping slushies and watching screens. like damn, pixar really said “this is your future if you don’t recycle”.
also how is it that two robots falling in love made me feel more emotions than 80% of romantic comedies. like when wall-e gets rebooted and forgets eve?? no i was not okay.
10/10 — it’s cute, it’s heartbreaking, it’s a warning, it’s a love story. and the way wall-e looks at eve?? yeah. soulmates.
