Affliction

Paul Schrader makes movies about people’s disconnect and isolation from society driving them mad like James Cameron makes movies about water. This is another addition to that sub genre and it’s up there with the best of them. Great performances across the board. Maybe one of my favorite Nick Nolte performances not for that iconic rage he delivers but for this “kicked dog” side of the character really drives the whole thing.
