Frankenstein
Watching this the second time gave me a lot more freedom to analyze this film a lot more. I absolutely love the aesthetic of this period time piece where it’s not quite gothic like a vampire film but just enough “scientific” and “antique” for a frankenstein film. The creature’s tale alone still remains one of my favorite pieces of media ever. I could watch the second half a hundred times and get something new out of it every time. I also really like seeing how the creature was freshly learning everything in the world and sharing his thoughts in such a literal way that his dialogue almost felt philosophical. Such a tragically layered character that Guillermo Del Toro adapted, truly hope to see him again.
