The Room
The Room, where to even begin with Wiseau's magnum opus. It really has it all, a staple of independent filmmaking the Polish director/writer adds a certain flair to the project that perhaps only he can. On an inaugural viewing one might miss the subtleties of his brilliant artistry yet it is forever present guiding us through and entertaining us for every second of its 99 minute run time. As an actor Wiseau dominates the screen bringing charisma, charm and an all round stella performance to his portrayal of the tragic protagonist Johnny. He is supported by a 5 star cast as well, with some of the strongest acting seen outside of Hollywood since the birth of cinema. The Room really has it all the score is magnificently composed perfectly complimenting the beautiful cinematography; the action is dramatic, well edited and grips the viewer in a chokehold so strong that they simply cannot and do not want to look away. There is something in this masterpiece for everyone a haunting yet true message about life, a beautiful melodramatic story and direction which rivals the likes of Hitchcock, Spielberg and Scorsese. It expertly blurs the lines between entertainment and art. I beg of everyone who reads this review, watch this film please it never disappoints.
