Anthropoid

"We're Czech. We will not surrender." I don't usually write a review longer than a sentence or two, but with a film like Anthropoid, I almost felt obliged to. It goes without saying that Cillian Murphy and Jamie Dornan are two actors gifted with a rife amount of talent. Seeing them take on the roles of Josef Gabčík and Jan Kubiš, with a story so far in time and yet so actual, has been an incredible experience. Operation Anthropoid and all that followed has been to me one of the most absorbing stories in the history of Czechoslovakia for how personal it feels and in all aspects, this film managed to capture as faithfully as possible the events that led to the operation and its consequences. I recommend visiting the Saints Cyril and Methodius Cathedral in Prague. It's almost like you can still feel the parachutists there.
