Frankenheimer is greatly under appreciated. Between this and The Manchurian Candidate, he really should be discussed more in film circles.
This was a wild ride. Rock Hudson is so handsome and there’s some crazy shit going down in this movie. Probably the wildest mainstream movie I can even think of from the 60s. Between the full-on orgy in a wine barrel, to the insane slow-burn that unfolds into a terrifying conclusion—It’s a trip and I’ll definitely be going back for seconds.
