Ryan Gosling might be the king of subtle performances. Harrison Ford’s return is fantastic. Ana de Armas has great chemistry with Gosling and adds some heart to his character. But Denis Villeneuve created a visually stunning, sonically haunting, compelling sci-fi drama. It took me a while to see this, but after this and Dune, he might be the reigning king of sci-fi.
