Brother Bear
Sometimes movies transcend entertainment and become a cornerstone of one’s emotional landscape. This is that for me. A film that has journeyed alongside me like a cinematic companion from the earliest stages of my childhood to adulthood. What began as a toddler’s fixation has evolved into something that feels profoundly personal, admittedly becoming something I cannot view objectively. Easily my most watched movie of all time.
Brother Bear exemplifies why animated films remain so compelling to me. It takes fundamental truths about empathy, grief, protection, maturation, and masculinity and presents them in such a simple way that you almost forget these movies are meant to subliminally teach you how to be a good human. These movies toe the line of being playful and optimistic, while never trivializing the complexity of the world we live in.
As someone prone to cynicism, there's something deeply restorative about returning to stories that remind you of the beauty of idealism in a world that seems determined to make it feel like such a naive notion.
Thats all for my sappy ass review
