Coco

still one of the best pixar movies out there. i put this on after a failed elemental attempt and it's immediately clear why coco succeeds when elemental doesn't - there's no hook, no emotional core. i couldn't care less about the elemental cast whereas coco immediately lays out the family dynamics and the central conflict. it makes me care from the start. coco is pixar at its strongest and this rewatch reminded me why pixar films are so good compared to most of its direct competitors (barring a few exceptions).
