Nosferatu

I think what really sold Nosferatu to me was how much better it is than most contempary vampire films. Not just in the acting (although Max Schrek as Count Orlok is unparalleled) but also in how every technical decision (like which scene to show, the use of light/shadows and colours) matters. How purposeful it all is. And it's over a 100 years old! How amazing is it that filmmaking has changed so much since then, yet still remains the same in the end.
