Frances Ha

“ am I nautically sensual “ i literally had to take a break when watching this. there was an unsettling familiarity i found with frances that was quite literally breathtaking. i know literally everyone in the whole world is trying to find there fucking way in life, but i think some people have it a little harder than others around them so they feel out of touch with reality. she was also wildly erratic and extremely moody but also very people and love positive. she had so much love to give but everyone around her was indifferent. she was an extraordinarily flame living in the seemingly adult, ordinary paradise. technically, i thought this was spectacular. i think it’s was funny how i didn’t notice it was in black and white until like 10 minutes in, and i think that’s a testament to the incredible script and direction that launches you in from the beginning. also, i feel like they talk like real life people - speaking a very fluid conversation that shifts it’s focus and sometimes has more than one. very beautifully gilded
