A Clockwork Orange
Kubrick log #2:
A Clockwork Orange is one of the films that started my journey through discovering more films when I was a teen. Came to a point where I thought I was the coolest cinephile at that time (maybe until now?).
Kubrick films really demand a second viewing or more to further delve into the themes he's trying to tell and of course, for how gorgeous-looking his films are.
A Clockwork Orange is one of the films that paved the way for socio/psychopaths in cinema. Malcolm Macdowell's Alex Delarge will always be one of cinema's greatest leads. And who could ever forget the opening that will make you glued to the film as soon as the color red appears on screen and the always eerie Funeral of Queen Mary playing on the background.
This may be Stanley Kubrick's most controversial, but at the same time, this is his most political and socially relevant.
Viddy well!
