a great family drama slashed into a political thriller; alot of ratnams movies can be described as this and as someone who has fond memories of dil se i think youd dig this.
the only film that's in both yours and poshos lists and its because this is just a movie everyone needs to see. probably the most brisk script every written? the jokes per minute ratio, the pace, the development is so so perfect and the more you think, the more the "romcom" vibes feel....off.
a genuinely life changing meditation on art, theatre, caste, gender and love. one of the most progressive films of recent times and i dont champion it for its views/beliefs but because of how it presents said beliefs, genuinely changed my life in some ways.
one of those movies u could write long essays on talking about its jungian connotations and surrealist imagery but also a movie you can just get lost in? its sooo hypnotic
a dreamlike fantasy that goes from disney film styled camp to genuine terror, its such a blast
a super quiet film on womanhood, independence and growth. its such a quaint film that while watching it everything kind of breeezes over you but afterwards it just sits with you for so long
RAHHHH LYNCH MENTIONED !!! no but fr probably the greatest surrealist film ever
one of the greatest slashers ever, 3 characters, one location and it never gets dull for a second,a constant guessing game of murders, identities and lies. all timer.
