The Queen's Gambit
From the very first episode, it pulls you into Beth Harmon’s world and doesn’t really let go. The way the story follows her rise in the chess world while also dealing with addiction, loneliness, and trauma makes it way deeper than just a “genius chess story.”
Anya Taylor-Joy is unreal here. Beth feels sharp, controlled, and brilliant on the surface, but you can constantly feel everything she’s holding back underneath. That contrast is what makes her so compelling to watch.
And somehow, chess is made insanely cinematic. Every match feels intense, strategic, and emotional even if you don’t fully understand the moves.
