Challengers
Loved this film.
First and foremost, Zendaya‘s acting is really fucking good here. You can see her character’s mind in action, and you can definitely see the difference between the ages of her character.
She’s not just playing Zendaya, I think she could really disappear into this character and I have to give her my applause for that.
Story – I really enjoyed the time skips.
It’s beautifully done, the audience is not getting confused, and it actually serves the story really well in my opinion.
This film doesn’t hand us information, it wants us to get it on our own.
To understand and guess what happened.
In an era that feels like every film is a Netflix movie, where they recap the plot every five minutes – this one doesn’t disrespect it’s audience whatsoever.
As usual, foreshadowing is my favorite, and the writers did such a good job here.
Not just in the dialogue, but also in the themes that were presented during this film.
What is life? What is tennis? What’s a relationship? What’s love? What’s it like to have an enemy?
It’s actually all kind of the same thing. It’s all just forms of love and codependency.
Beautifully done.
Also, really liked the color grading!
Would watch again
