one of ghibli’s masterpiece and i’m so glad it’s acknowledged as their greatest work cause it definitely is one of them. the most beautiful ode to nature and our world i’ve ever seen. it holds a huge message that is filled with self-reflection on us as humans and with it a lot of self-reproaches that forces us to put in perspective our reality. it marked me as a child, i was really scared of the black jiggly thing lol, and marked me as an adult too. ashitaka and san are AMAZING characters, they are complete opposites but similar at the same time, they complete each other so well. stunning scenery and dialogues will leave a print on you. i really love eboshi’s character too, ghibli’s women really are on another writing level.
