Bugonia

Really hard not to give this 5 stars, although feel like I’ve been fiving too much recently. Perfectly directed, with insane framing and beautiful colours. The performances are Oscar worthy, Jesse is possibly the best psychopath actor but brings a lot of nuance still really making you feel for this character. And Emma has incredible diversity switching between relatable/rational, unlikeable, distressed and peculiar all very effectively. I haven’t seen the original but the writing is brilliant too, and it really doesn’t let you know where it’s going. Certainly a very inspiring film, and really makes me want to make stuff and get to this level
