"i want to touch people with my art. i want them to say: he feels deeply, he feels tenderly."every frame of this movie is an oil painting made by hand by over 100 different artists, so it's already quite obvious to state that this is a piece of art, right? i loved loved loved loved absolutely everything about this. when i visited the van gogh exhibition last year i was so overwhelmed by the beauty of his paintings, how no detail of life was too small or too humble for him, how such magic on the canvas was made by the hands of such a miserable and lonely man. watching this film was like traveling back in time and revisiting that moment in the exhibition, and i was so eagerly listening to every story that was told about his life because just as armand roulin, i as well find it so interesting. "you want to know so much about his death. but what do you know of his life?"
