Helluva Boss

fully binge watched season 1 because what else am i supposed to do on a road trip mission zero: a step up in every way from the pilot which this basically replaces. not much to say it’s just a good short episode. murder family: probably the funniest episode of helluva boss? the first few episodes of this show feel so different from the last few of the second season. it’s a common complaint (i wouldn’t personally say im complaining but it’s kinda odd) because murder family, spring breakers, and CHERUB all are so funny and then i’ll watch mastermind, which is a really great episode, but not laugh once. i wish in season three we have more really great funny episodes because the first handful of season one have a bunch of hilarious gags (stolas’ call in murder family, moxxie being an opossum, etc) 7/10 loo loo land: this was my first episode i remember releasing after i became a fan. i remember that i would watch it on the family computer, but muted so nobody would hear that i was watching adult animation (i do something similar now because now i just don’t want people knowing watch helluva boss) loo loo land is the first sign of what the show would become later on in the second season. it sets up stolas’ familial problems by introducing octavia, who might be helluva boss’ most confusing character ever. i don’t know how i feel about her still and ive known of this girl for literally five years. stolas and octavia have a really sweet relationship in this episode though. hope nothing bad happens to them. also you will be okay is peak and the second best song in helluva boss and definitely in the top 10 of best songs in the hellaverse. 8/10 spring breakers: this episode introduces verosika!! i’ve always really loved her, she’s so interesting and her design is so cool. sad that this and ozzie’s is basically all we see of her this season, and she gets even less screen time next season. give my girl a short where we actually see what happened between her and blitzø!!! 6/10 CHERUB: funny, but basically all it has going for it. love to see an episode that goes back to the show’s original concept but it’s just kinda mid. i love the world building with the cherubs. i hope we get to see some cherubs in hazbin sometime!!! i’d love to see peter and deerie interact !!! 6/10 harvest moon festival: the first episode i remember actually listening to. nobody was home but myself so i watched all the episodes with sound and then this one. i was actually so surprised when i heard millie’s voice for the first time, i never imagined her with a southern accent. i oddly enough basically just imagined her with my voice. but anyway i adore this episode, i think it’s really great for moxxie’s character, gives me one of my favorite stolitz moments (the first scene of the episode), and norman reedus as striker is so fun, im so sad he no longer voices the character 💔💔 7/10 truth seekers: i remember really hyping up this episode before it came out. there was a much longer wait in between episodes, which looking back wasn’t that long. it was about 4 months.. the wait in between MMMMSS and full moon was 6 months. but it was honestly worth the wait. the animation during the bad trips and the final fight scene are SO GOOD. i could look at it for hours, specifically during moxxie’s bad trip. also this episode has my favorite stolitz moment of the season, you can guess what it is. 8/10 ozzie’s: holy peak. no notes. house of asmodeus is the best song of helluva boss and it’s not even a contest. top 5 hellaverse song. blitzø and stolas’ final exchange is so well written and performed VIV I DIDNT KNOW YOUR GAME 9/10 queen bee: this episode is unusual! it was supposed to be the series finale but ended up coming out while season 2 was airing, i believe right before exe’s & ooh’s came out. i personally prefer ozzie’s as a season finale than queen bee, but this episode works. it works ig… okay but yall don’t get the hype when fans found out kesha was gonna be in this episode I WAS LOSING MY MINDDDD 8/10 season avg: 7.4/10 i’ll do season 2 next week when i have to drive home, but i have a lot more complicated feelings on season 2 than season 1.
