Parasite
This was the biggest shock for me for any movie that came out in 2019. When I heard that it was not even filmed in English I got a little skeptical but was still keeping an open mind and have no expectations. I don’t even know if I’ve seen a foreign film before this one. But goddamn, this movie surprised the fuck outta me.
When the film first started I wondered if the subtitles would bother me because I’m a really slow reader. But soon it just became second nature and I didn’t even notice I was reading text.
From start to finish, I was fully invested and intrigued into this film. It just keeps adding and building upon layers until the climax and when it happens, it hits you like a tank. This film is metaphorical and stacked with layers and messages. I cannot believe how real this film felt. I just cannot get over this film. 10/10
