Spider-Man
Spider-Man (2002) is like watching a pure live-action comic book. The cheesiness of the film makes it so much more enjoyable than if it weren’t. Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker is just so good! He plays Peter in this awkward and relatable way that just makes you feel for the kid.
Now Tobey playing as Spider-Man is definitely not as good as how well he portrays Peter. But he most certainly gets the job done. Moving on, to the antagonist of the film played by Willem Dafoe is probably one of the best CBM villains to date. He just brings this charisma to the role that is like none other.
The soundtrack while watching and listening to the movie is pure epicness. Danny Elfman brings something to the table that not much others have to a CBM. Also the pacing of the film is so good. You never get bored while watching and before you know it, you’re at the final act. Which is so epic and literally hard hitting because of the use of practical effects shown throughout the film.
At the end of the day the director Sam Raimi did a fantastic choice. He let the passion, silliness, color, and heart from the comics all into this film. Which plays off so well. It really does make this CBM special and fun to watch.
