The Lighthouse
Homer odyssey sailed the ocean in The Lighthouse and painted all the actors gray.
Sober edit: So that was certainly an experience that I can’t remember for the most part, but here’s what I do remember. I remember uncontrollably laughing due to the fact I thought the movie was in color, but they just painted the actors gray and the background black and white.
Also while I was watching for some reason I thought the story was an adaptation of the Odyssey by Homer where he got stuck on an island with a lighthouse.
While watching this movie high I noticed this movie has breakneck pacing even though some scenes felt like they dragged on for literally ever. I felt really sad for Willem Dafoe when he had dirt shoveled into his mouth, that scene felt like it was 10 minutes long of him eating dirt.
The movie’s ending came out of nowhere and I felt like I could watch hours of these two people go mad on the island.
Also I was so enamored with the filmmaking of this movie, lots of scenes look like they were filmed up close with miniature sets. I remember it looking really cool and impressive.
Also this movie’s dialogue made absolutely no fucking sense to me whatsoever. They were quite literally just saying a whole lot of nothing. The old sailor talk by Willem Dafoe and Robert Pattinson made it seem they were literally saying a bunch of words with no context behind it all. For example every sentence sounded like this: Beans lost water fortnights ago spilled everywhere wicker boy.
