Perfect Blue
10/10 | A+
Second watch made everything click for me. One of the best psychological thriller/horror movies ever made. I love how the viewer becomes fully immersed into Mima’s subconscious similar to the likes of Memento.
The realistic grittiness of the entertainment industry displayed here and how that effects Mima is fantastic and perfectly paced.
Even after rewatching the directing and editing here set me on edge on numerous occasions and created a sense of uneasiness throughout to even the final frame when the film is “resolved”.
Upon rewatch this is now one of my favorite movies and I suspect I will want to rewatch soon.
