Barbie
For like first 20min I understood all movies referenced in a movie. In order 2001: space Odyssey, Jacques Demy movies, Truman show and real world - puberty blues. Obsessed how it's first movie in um 10s???? 2020 era??? To be that colorful and yet practical.
So kenland plot was in the air early on but whole thing within 2 days was insane. America and Ariana owned that roles. Alan is my m-fkin hero he is just ken's friend and his fighting scene peaked and resistance one too. Margot and Ryan were just literally born into this roles. Down to manners, history and ambitions I suppose. Cliche barbie story just broke me and I absolutely adored her relationships both with Ruth and Gloria. Her character development was real peak of the movie just wow. I guess Ken also got life crisis but more in horses and patriarchy type of sense. That 2 ballads including were just amazing also dance fight grease style I guess... Weird barbie and her all discontinued other barbie SICK popping dog??? Grow up Skipper???? Magic earring Ken???? Monitor barbie??? The Dua and John Cena as mermaids were just amazing with their 2min screen time. Gloria's multiple monologues (not just one duh) is so Oscar worthy. Every word every time that just hit as any other Barbie. Will Ferrell should be cast in any toy movie as CEO always. "Call me mother" just killed me in a good way tho. But I didn't expect to be opposite of president business from Lego movie cause he was just delightful and that Mattel Barbie land relation was something.
All the best scenes include barbie being emotional and all the scenes with Ruth just made de cry truly.
The ending made a lot sense but that final line was just insane. As well as the fact that technically if to counts narrator it includes 3 commercial in 4th wall style.
How could that movie hurt men ego when in barbieland all it took was beer, horses, serving ladies and lame stuff like talking about Snyder's cut... They be just like that lmaoo 😭😭😭
