“And everything is very big. It’s really very big.” Was testing Plex on my old Xbox 360 (still can’t believe Plex still works on that thing!) and decided this would be good to test it out for a couple of minutes. Lo and behold, a couple minutes turned into the whole film. That’s life for you, I guess. Tonight’s review is just a smattering of thoughts. Could you imagine the true crime podcast that must have come up about the case of James? How he had been missing for so long and when he came home he became a filmmaker? It must have been crazy. But that’s not the focal point of the film. I wonder if this film is an allegory for learning to become one with the world while you deal with the special fixations of autism using a child taken by doomsday prepping and the TV show his adopted father made for him? The people behind the Lonely Island really make me wonder on this one. Still a masterpiece of a film, though.
