Jurassic World
When first going to see this in theaters I was so excited. It had been years since Jurassic Park III came out, and this franchise was dormat. Being a huge fan of this franchise and a dinosaur lover as a kid, I was just hoping for something awesome. Thankfully I got it with this first Jurassic World movie. This movie gave us another attempt at the park but this time its been open and running. It was so dope to see what a dinosaur zoo would even look like. In return also showing why creatutes like this should never be in cages. But of course things had to go wrong, and in comes the Indominus Rex. What an awesome design and creation. You needed something else to take hold of the dinosaur villian and the Indominus Rex delivered. Also shoutout to Blue and the returning Rexy. Which I will get back to in a bit.
Chris Pratt with the raptors led by Blue is one of the cooler things in this movie. Its very sweet to see the bond Owen has with Blue throughout this movie and movies to come. I also thought Bryce Dallas Howard was fantastic as Claire and her chemistry was great with Pratt. That duo really delivered, and made this movie that much more engaging and fun.
This movie felt like a magical return to the world of Jurrassic Park and now World. It gave this franchise hope again. Now unfortunately I could also argue it hurt the franchise setting up for Dinosaurs to be treated like Godzilla movies. Which in return took away from excitement and the beauty of these films. Side note Vincent D'Onforia is way over the top in this movie, maybe could have dialed it down a bit lol.
I do want to share the fact that this movie has one of my favorite scenes ever. The releasing of Rexy at the end as a last resort option almost brought me to tears. As my childhood love for Dinosaurs and love for the Tyrannosaurus Rex came forward in that scene.
In the end go have a blast with Jurassic World!!
