The Conjuring 2

An incredible sequel that maintains its scares and continues the great character work by Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson. James Wan is back again but with a bigger budget, and more fun ideas. This movie introduced the creepy Valek, which was a setup for Nun movies to come. Also introduced The Crooked Man, who deserves a damn movie lol. While this movie definitely feels like setup for characters to have there owns films; its done without really effecting the movies quality. The biggest issue with this movie is the runtime. Definitely could have been like 15 min shorter. Horror movies generally shouldn't be 2 hrs plus. Also while not a negative this movie definitely uses more cgi. I will always be more of a practical effects kind of guy. In the end, an awesome sequel that almost matches the original!
