The Prestige

Nolans filmography is as good as anyone's. His early run of movies is almost as good as his middle. Its just bonkers! Every twist and turn is fun, and you always find something new everytime you watch this movie. Probably the best magician movie I've seen, and its so much more then that. The jealousy and competitiveness that is shown between Angier and Borden is riveting to watch. The eagerness to be the best and not give a damn who they hurt in the process. Nolan really takes you on a roller coaster ride of who to root for, because each character consistently finds a way to look more despicable to get what they want. Nolan does such a great job of making you believe one thing and then totally turns you around. Great performances from the leads Christian Bale, and Hugh Jackman. There chemistry was fantastic and when they did share scenes it was awesome. Also shoutout to the always great Michael Caine. As well as the underrated Rebecca Hall. This movies only issues would there's so many twists it can get ridiculous at times. Yes at the top I said the twists were fun, but both can be true. Its fun but you can also pick apart some of the ridiculousness of them. There's also some moments that you really have to suspend your disbelief. The main reveal does kinda make the other characters look dumb. But this movie is so engaging you can get past it. Nolan is one fire during this run and it doesn't stop of awhile. -This is a rewatch of his movies getting ready for The Odyssey.
