Nope
the bookended scenes of the full steven yeun flashback to what follows (light spoilers if you haven’t seen yet) are such varying degrees of walls closing in stomach churning in such an impressive and rare tone. i found the full abduction of the crowd so claustrophobic but both moments are incredible. yeun’s earlier monologue about an snl sketch parody of the (until then) most traumatic moment of his life (that he has a museum of) is gutwrenching having to live with the total cultural dissolution of something so terrifying and ingrained in him.
daniel kaluuya is in total stoic cowboy mode but he says so much with so little - I could’ve watch him and keke palmer interact in their failing horse business for a whole movie even without everything else. the buildup is slow but not boring i don’t think, refreshing even! in its pacing. the dialogue is naturally paced and not quippy but still very dynamic. plus she gives us an akira slide towards the end
the cgi has some moments of full on honest to god art throughout this but particularly the unfolding of greens towards the end transcends visual rationale into something kind of awe inspiring.
oh and also hell yeah the fucking blood storm! and everyone is really hot!
just love love loved it
